Course Summary

Writing with Collaborators connects you to current industry practice through partnerships and projects. This course is run as a studio where you will work as part of a group to address the brief presented by an organisation such as a gallery, a festival or a publisher. Your group will devise a collective approach to the brief, and you will then develop a creative contribution responding to that brief. You will receive feedback from your industry and interdisciplinary partners, who will be considering both your approach as a studio group and your individual creative work.

This is a designated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course for the BP257P27 Bachelor of Creative Writing. This course includes a work integrated learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community will be integral to your experience.

This course includes Industry Partnered Learning (IPL), Career Development Learning (CDL) and Industry Embedded Activities. The course incorporates engagement with industry professionals and organisations. Through practical, industry-embedded activities, you’ll deepen your understanding of the intersection of sustainability and fashion while building networks to support your professional journey.

The WIL Ready credential provides guidance on inclusivity, health, safety and wellbeing, cultural safety, accessibility, equity, and reasonable adjustments, as well as expectations for student preparation, supervision and monitoring during the WIL activity, and reflective practice and debriefing during and following the activity.

Students should complete the following WIL ready cred before undertaking WIL activity in this course: https://www.rmit.edu.au/students/careers-opportunities/internships-work-experience-wil/wil-activity
