Course Summary

This unit specifies the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use a range of welding techniques and electric welding tools and equipment, including poly fusion, to weld a variety of materials for plumbing jobs.

This unit applies to plumbing pre-apprentices who under close supervision and guidance, develop a defined and limited range of skills and knowledge in preparing them for entering the working environment within the plumbing industry. They use little judgement and followinstructions specified by the supervisor. On entering the industry, it is intended that further training will be required for this specific skill to ensure trade level standard for a registered plumber.
