This course brings together ideas from different fields to help you think about today’s world as a planetary world.
You will develop your knowledge of arguments about the scale and nature of environmental, technological, economic, social and cultural changes characteristic of a world that is seen as planetary.
You will encounter these arguments not as abstract ideas but as crafted and communicated through specific practices and technologies.
Your developing knowledge about a planetary world and about transformative changes in it will enable you to consider your place in this world, how we are governed, and how we govern our selves. You will see these important issues in the context of continuing shifts in what it means to be human.
