As a key part of your final year, you will undertake two seminar courses: POLI1128 Complexity and Innovation Seminar 1 and POLI1129 Complexity and Innovation Seminar 2. These courses shift the emphasis from developing capabilities to managing the unpredictable realities of contemporary policymaking. The intent of both seminars is to explore policy challenges and approaches that are new, highly contested or deeply challenging to the status quo. The seminars are supported by workshops where you and your peers will explore and critically examine the issues and approaches raised and their implications for your future practice. 

The focus of this course is on the challenges of negotiating the external environment. 

In this course, industry-partnered engagement will be central to your learning in this course. This may take a variety of forms, including but not limited to a guest speaker, panel discussion, or masterclass. You will also undertake learning activities/assessment to support your career development.
