In this course, you will learn how to design inclusive early childhood learning environments that support participation, belonging and equity for diverse learners from birth to five years. You will critically apply relevant theory and regulatory requirements, including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS), to analyse real environments and justify design decisions. You will learn through workshops, guided spatial and sensory analysis activities, case-based discussions, and peer review of design proposals (delivered face-to-face, online, or blended). By the end of the course, you will be able to evaluate environmental and pedagogical factors, exercise advanced professional judgement in complex contexts, and produce an evidence-informed inclusive environment framework that aligns with quality improvement processes.
