This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience. 

This course provides you with a capstone experience, which will give you the opportunity to integrate, critically reflect on and consolidate what you have learnt in your program. 

This course has a vocational focus. It provides you with the opportunity to learn skills and practices in the workplace relating to a field of study in your Master of Food Science and Technology.    

This capstone course immerses you in a real or simulated food science and technology workplace, where you will apply advanced disciplinary knowledge to evaluate professional practices, technical procedures, and ethical standards in complex contexts. You will engage with authentic workplace challenges, using research-informed approaches to analyse unfamiliar problems and develop evidence-based solutions. 

Through collaboration with peers and industry stakeholders, you will strengthen your communication, negotiation, and professional judgement skills in multidisciplinary environments. The course also supports critical reflection on your personal and professional development, enabling you to identify strengths and areas for growth. 

Across placement experience, industry-informed activities, and reflective practice, you will consolidate your learning and demonstrate readiness for professional practice and future career pathways in the food industry.
