The Architecture Worlds and Media: Design Studio is undertaken in the context of the Architecture Design Studios course sequence. This studio-based course aims to develop, apply and test your architectural design skills through immersive environments, gaming, simulation, and emerging media.
This course has its own design focus and way of working, drawing on historical, theoretical, immersive, simulated and media-based approaches within contemporary architectural practice. Teaching activities are developed accordingly to support the studio's line of enquiry into virtual environments, gaming engines, and cinematic architectural storytelling.
Each Architecture Worlds and Media Design Studio develops a program of study to suit its studio theme. You should refer to individual studio handouts for details of each program and its specific objectives.
As part of the Architecture Worlds and Media minor, this studio provides opportunities to extend and synthesise skills developed in the supporting Architecture Worlds and Media 1 and 2 studio-based courses. Projects explore a variety of emerging architecture media design technologies such as immersive environments, gaming engines, simulation, and other emerging media as critical spaces for architectural experimentation, representation, and communication across creative and commercial sectors.
