Years 1 to 3
You’ll learn the fundamentals of electrical and electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, and international business tailored for electrical and electronic engineers.
All engineering students will also study an Introduction to Engineering course, incorporating a humanitarian-focused Engineers Without Borders Challenge. You’ll have the opportunity to extend this aspect of your studies by completing an Engineers Without Borders elective, enabling you to experience humanitarian engineering first-hand.
Years 4 and 5
You’ll specialise in electrical and electronic engineering, and international business.
Compulsory courses in engineering will start with a group engineering design project and research methods for engineers, leading to a major individual engineering design project in the final year. This will relate closely to industry to demonstrate high levels of technical competence and organisational skills as well as to exercise enterprise skills.
A wide range of technical electives will be available in electrical and electronic engineering that will deepen your technical knowledge, enrich your skill set and develop your engineering and professional capabilities. You have the option of specialising in one area or picking electives from several areas for a more generalist program.
Your final-year (capstone) project will develop and reinforce the skills and knowledge you need - as defined by Engineers Australia - to commence your professional engineering career.
You’ll also complete a work-integrated learning (industry experience) elective in Year 3 or 5.
You will complete two courses from a choice of senior international business courses in human resources management, entrepreneurship, logistics and supply chain management, marketing, accounting, economics and finance or business information systems.
