The advanced diploma covers engineering skills including drafting, computer-aided drafting (CAD), and use of hand and power tools, machining and manufacturing processes.
You’ll learn skills in basic machining operations and fabrication tasks, as well as learning how to select, set up and use a range of test equipment.
You’ll also be introduced to engineering mathematics, scientific principles, and materials engineering. You may also learn to apply computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) processes and programming.
Specialist areas include:
- 3D computer-aided drafting and solid modelling
- advanced statics and dynamics
- design of machinery
- project and quality management
- strength of materials
- thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
April 2018 intake
Students will complete 4 courses over 9 weeks. Students will also have the opportunity to load up to 25 hours per week in the Semester 2, 3 and 4 to complete by 2019. Semester 1 classes will be for approximately 20-22 hours per week.
