Over a two-day learning period, the Working Safely in the Solar Industry skill set is designed to enhance your practical skills and capabilities to seek work in the solar industry with the installation of photovoltaic and solar water systems.
This skill set provides a pathway to further qualifications. It is not intended as a replacement for full certificate-level qualifications.
The Working Safely in the Solar Industry skill set is designed to ensure you have the appropriate skills and knowledge required to work safely in the solar industry. Upon completion of your studies in this skill set, you will have the skills and knowledge to:
- work safely on roofs
- work safely at heights
- identify and report asbestos.
The duration for this qualification is 12 hours for the initial unit Working Safely in the Solar Industry. Additional hours may be required for other unit of competency completion.
Nominal hours for this qualification is 12, including 2 hours of compulsory practical on-campus assessment. Upon assessment you may be required to undertake further study.
To complete this qualification, you will need to undertake and pass five units of competency. These are:
- VU22744 Work Safely in the Solar Industry
- Other UOC will be via RPL or credit transfer
