Overview

This course is a comprehensive introduction to Revit MEP - a powerful 3-dimensional building modelling software. Learn software functionality to design and document mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with high precision while coordinating with the design of a building's architectural and structural components.

  • Understanding using templates
  • Revit file types,Sequencing workflow
  • Creating a REVIT MEP project, work sets, work sharing
  • Linking architectural model, CAD IFC files to MEP model
  • Creating, modifying working with views, elevations sections
  • Annotating and Coping monitoring elements
  • Working with spaces andschedules
  • Use of drawing, editing modifying tools
  • Setting up sheets, levels and creating construction documents

    Prerequisites

    Basic computer skills are essential such as the ability to use the internet and file storage networks. Knowledge of engineering drawing principles and construction terminology will be useful.

    Materials supplied

    Materials required for the course will be provided. All relevant course notes are supplied with comprehensive instructions and exercises.

    Materials to bring

    Pen, paper and/or laptop for note taking. A USB flash drive for transferring and storing files.

    Suited to

    The course will suit people who are interested in developing their 3D modelling design skills using Revit MEP. An understanding of building structures engineering systems will be a strong advantage.

    Outcome

    Upon completion, participants will develop a good understanding of the fundamental functions applications of Revit MEP. Award Autodesk and RMIT Statement of Participation (80% attendance required).
