Push the boundaries of what food can be.
More than nourishment, food and its preparation is a combination of science, technology, and experience. This minor explores how innovation in food processing and multisensory gastronomy is shaping what and how we eat, integrating insights from food design and consumer behaviour.
You'll examine the role of emerging technologies in sensory science, study the principles and practices of sensory analysis for product development, and be introduced to the role of marketing and packaging in food choice and the sensory delivery of food.
By completing this minor, you'll be primed to design innovative products that resonate with consumers and to reimagine food experiences that engage the senses.
Gain the foundational knowledge of food design and the food industry and learn how ingredients impact the sensory delivery of a food.
Explore the importance of sensory evaluation, consumer perception, ingredient technology and business innovation to provide resilient and sustainable opportunities for the future foods.
Investigate consumer insights as you apply scientific knowledge to the development of products to meet that need and drive market success during your 10-day overseas study tour.
This minor consists of 4 subjects, starting with the foundational knowledge of food design and how ingredients impact the sensory delivery of a food.
