ACCESSIBILITY

Accessible Entrances

Enter via The Capitol arcade from Swanston Street or Howie Place. Halfway through the arcade there’s a lift between the jeweller (Your Jeweller) and the drycleaner. Take the lift up to The Capitol’s Foyer level.

Once inside The Capitol Foyer there is a separate central lift which provides access to the Theatre, Salon and Lounge. The Capitol’s internal lift is located up the ramp in the Foyer.

Parking

There are a number of on-street accessible parking spaces located on Little Collins St and surrounding streets. Parking is also available at a number of nearby car parks including Fed Square car park, which has two accessible car spaces on each level.

Accessible Toilets

Amenities with wheelchair access are available on the Foyer level (includes baby changearea.)

Theatre

The Theatre has eight accessible spaces accompanied by eight companion seats:

  • Four spaces accessible from the Foyer level via a door past the toilets.
  • Four spaces accessible from the Salon level via the internal lift.

Please see the venue’s front of house staff to accompany you to one of these spaces if required.

Hearing Loop

The Capitol is equipped with a Hearing loop through the building. Please see a front of house staff member if required.
