Apprenticeships and traineeships combine training and employment. Learn on the job and earn money while studying a nationally recognised qualification.
RMIT offers a range of pre-apprenticeships and school-based apprenticeship/traineeships that range in duration between three and four years.
Please note that these programs are not available to international students.
A pre-apprenticeship gives you basic skills in your interest area and readies you for an apprenticeship. It can take up to six months and you do not need to be employed.
A school-based apprenticeship/traineeship allows Year 11 and 12 students to commence their apprenticeship or traineeship while at school.
It combines part-time employment, school study and vocational training. As well as gaining a vocational education qualification, you may also receive credit towards your Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).
I chose RMIT because it had the best training methods and the highest success rate for the program.
