Accidents can happen in any workplace. But the fact is that most of them can be prevented – and, whatever industry you’re in, employers expect you to bring the know-how and skills to help keep the workplace safe: for everyone.


This course gives you the fundamental skills needed to identify and deal with workplace hazards, including how to assess risks and implement effective risk controls. You’ll gain practical, safety-conscious approaches to physical lifting and carrying, as well as learning about correct ways to store hazardous substances and the appropriate protective gear needed for different situations.

  • the legal responsibilities of employers and employees
  • types of hazards common to all workplaces, e.g. environmental hazards (lighting, ventilation, etc.), clothing, manual handling, ergonomics, hazardous substances

How does it work ?

Through online activities and assessment, the earner of this credential demonstrated fundamental workplace safety skills, including identifying workplace hazards, assessing risks and implementing risk controls. They also showed an understanding of safety-conscious approaches to physical lifting and carrying, as well as the correct approaches to protective gear use and hazardous substance storage.
