Overview
If you’re looking to solidify your knowledge in the critical infrastructure and architecture used in data generation and management, this course helps pave the way for opportunities to move into roles like data architecture, database administration and data engineering. At the end of the course, you’ll complete a capstone project, combining what you’ve learned through the program to build your own data engineering portfolio.

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to walk away with an RMIT credential verifying your skill mastery in data engineering, to be uploaded and shared on LinkedIn. Throughout the course, you’ll also:
- Create relational and NoSQL data models to fit the various needs of consumers. Master ETL for databases in PostgreSQL and Apache Cassandra.
- Build a cloud data warehouse through Amazon Web Services, and deepen your understanding of data infrastructure
- Construct a Data Lake, understanding the context of the big data ecosystem, and how to use Spark to work with massive datasets.
- Develop data pipelines with Airflow to schedule, automate and monitor pipelines.
