Overview

Global Communication Skills for International Education Professionals is the first of a series of online professional development courses from RMIT Training, helping international staff in the international education sector to develop the intercultural skills to communicate more effectively and confidently with others both professionally and socially. 

Clever Communications is the first theme in the GCS-IEP program and focuses on making a professional impression when communicating in English.  

This course is designed for upper intermediate to advanced English speakers (IELTS 5 and above).

Content

In Clever Communication, you will learn how to make a professional impression when you communicate in English. You will feel more confident in phone conversations and when exchanging written messages, even when you are dealing with difficult phone calls and emails. This theme is for international education professionals who want to learn, revise and practice basic professional communication skills in English in a safe and supported environment. 

In this theme, you will develop skills in 

  • structuring professional emails 
  • using the right tone in an email 
  • exchanging information over the phone 
  • dealing successfully with difficult phone calls.
