Global Communication Skills for International Education Professionals (GCS-IEP) is the first of a series of online professional development courses from RMIT Training, helping international staff in the international education sector to develop the intercultural skills to communicate more effectively and confidently with others both professionally and socially. 

The Pitch is the second theme in the GCS-IEP program and focuses on communicating professionally in meetings and presentations.

This course is designed for upper intermediate to advanced English speakers (IELTS 5 and above).

Content

In The Pitch, you will learn how to present your ideas to colleagues, other professionals and clients. You will learn how to communicate ideas and information and develop skills and strategies in presenting yourself online, explaining data and information, and giving presentations. This theme is for international education professionals who want to improve their skills in informing and persuading others when speaking and writing.

In this theme, you will develop skills in:

  • participating in online meetings
  • presenting information and ideas online or face-to-face
  • recounting and summarising information from others' presentations
  • presenting and requesting information in writing.
