Course Description

Information systems are the lifeblood of modern organisations as they are an integral part of most business activities. In this course, you will develop the necessary skills to design and implement information systems solutions to address basic business issues.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

On successful completion of this course you will be able to:

CLO1. Devise programming solutions by critically evaluating and implementing appropriate constructs and data structures based on business problems. CLO2. Critically evaluate and implement programming best practice in order to improve program quality. CLO3. Analyse, design and build information systems to address fundamental business needs.
CLO4. Analyse, design and build information systems to support business decision-making. CLO5. Effectively communicate results of technical analysis to non-technical business professionals.

These may include quizzes; assignments; prescribed readings; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; solving problems; conducting presentations; producing written work and collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects.
