Course Description

This course introduces the concept of project time and cost management. This course will develop your skills in time and cost management and expand your knowledge of how to apply these skills across diverse project management projects. You will further develop these skills by utilising specialised software.

Program Learning Outcomes

If you are enrolled in MC210 you will develop the following Program Learning Outcomes

  • PLO1: Analyse, synthesise and apply complex project management theory to address industry issues and implement new directions in project management
  • PLO3: Employ your knowledge of project management theory and recent industry developments to identify problems and formulate solutions that respond to the diverse needs of project stakeholders
  • PLO4: Apply appropriate research methods, tools and technical skills to plan, implement and evaluate projects, contributing to the profession and field of knowledge in the discipline


Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to fulfill the requirements of the following course learning outcomes (CLOs):

  1. Select and apply appropriate project management techniques to mange project duration and cost
  2. Analyse and apply principles of cost control, cash flow planning and financial administration to ensure effective project management. 
  3. Control project cost and duration
  4. Critically analyse, synthesise and reflect on project management techniques

Learning in this course comprises a combination of lectures and workshops. To support your learning you will engage in a range of learning activities including: class discussions of readings in a workshop setting, and software workshops.
