Course Description

This course introduces you to the significance of e-supply chain in business logistics. It provides you with the necessary concepts and techniques in e-supply chain design and implementation from a managerial perspective. Various technologies in the field will be discussed from the perspective of availability of tools. The course also emphasises on the use of case studies to illustrate the concept and approach to e-supply chain design and implementation.

At the successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

CLO1: Critically assess various e-supply chain business models to improve supply chain performance and competitiveness for an organisation
CLO2: Critically evaluate various digital technologies that support e-business and supply chain operations
CLO3: Analyse e-business implementation approaches/considerations/strategies to enhance upstream and downstream supply chain integration
CLO4: Evaluate and recommend appropriate digital technologies that contribute to improvement in supply chain practices and business decision-making

If you are an RMIT Online student, a range of learning experiences are planned for you in each topic including interactive webinars.
The workshops/webinars are designed to develop your analytical skills drawing on knowledge and frameworks offered in the lectures/online materials. Your active and constructive participation in group discussions is expected in addition to weekly reading, group and individual exercises and careful planning and completion of assessment tasks.

You will have access to extensive course materials on Canvas (myRMIT Studies), including digitised readings, lecture notes (for on-campus students) and a detailed study program, external internet links and access to RMIT Library online and hardcopy resources.


Overview of Assessment

Assessment in this course will be directed to your ability to assess the significance of e-supply chain in facilitating and enhancing business processes; and illustrate how concepts and techniques in e-supply chain design and implementation have been utilised to advantage in practice.
