Course Description

This course is intended to provide you with an ability to understand and analyse the strategic and operational needs of an organisation, using relevant concepts, methods, and techniques, and designing solutions that address those needs.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

On successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  1. Critically analyse the strategic and operational needs of an enterprise in a real world situation.
  2. Address the strategic and operational needs of an enterprise by designing appropriate and relevant technological solutions.
  3. Demonstrate a critical understanding of system analysis and design methodologies in order to evaluate the application of systems in a business context.
  4. Demonstrate a critical understanding of the relevant tools available and their appropriate application in the context of the business environment.
  5. Manage a business systems development project using relevant tools and techniques in a dynamic business environment.

In this course you will be encouraged to be an active learner. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities comprising individual and group work. These may include quizzes; assignments; prescribed readings; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; solving problems; conducting presentations; producing written work and collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects.
