Alternatively, you may be able to demonstrate the required skills and knowledge before you start this course.
Course Description
In this course you will undertake a self-directed project of your choice driven by a social, environmental and/or ethical issue. You may undertake this project independently or collaboratively.
This capstone experience requires you to define and demonstrate your own sustainable innovation practice to a professional standard in a related discipline or industry context. You will apply and critically reflect upon the ideas, skills and graduate capabilities you have gained through your program. It is designed to enable you to synthesise and integrate knowledge, connect theory and practice as well as demonstrate a holistic achievement of program learning outcomes.

Program Learning Outcomes
In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:
PLO1: Demonstrate and apply a diverse and industry-relevant body of skills and knowledge in sustainable innovation for the fashion and textiles industry, related fields and emerging markets.
PLO2: Critically analyse, synthesise and reflect on sustainable innovation in both local and international contexts.
PLO3: Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking and innovation when identifying and solving problems in diverse contexts within the field of fashion and textiles sustainable innovation.
PLO4: Communicate using diverse formats and strategies with audiences within and external to your discipline.
PLO5: Work with others in a range of roles and contexts, demonstrating cultural, environmental and social awareness and ethical and reflective practice.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

Overview of Learning Activities
Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities will promote your ability to propose, investigate, plan, analyse, and realise sustainable innovative fashion and textile solutions.

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes.
Assessment tasks are directly aligned with each Course Learning Outcome. They are as follows:
Assessment Task 1: Project Proposal (30%)
CLOs: 1 & 3
Assessment Task 2: Launch Project (50%)
CLOs: 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5
Assessment Task 3: Project Presentation (20%)
CLOs: 2, 4 & 5
