As this course addresses animation, you will benefit from having a familiarity of traditional drawing skills.
Course Description
You will develop the technical and conceptual skills related to the production of 2D animation. Specifically, you will learn the design principles behind such things as motion, colour, character and narrative and how they manifest in 2D animation. This course will address both traditional media (e.g. pencil on paper) and digital media (e.g. vector animation).

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. use a range of 2D animation tools and software to produce an animation.
2. apply knowledge of the underlying principles of 2D animation to design an animation.
3. plan, design and construct a 2D animation production from start to finish.
Overview of Learning Activities
You will learn the principles which you will apply within the environment of a digital lab through a range of in-class tutorials and exercises. These exercises will have been designed to support your progress in the assignments. Progress of the assignments will be subject to milestones and weekly review sessions.
