Course Description
Multinational enterprises (MNEs) are the major players in today’s global business. This course aims to give you the essential knowledge for successfully managing these firms. It will introduce the fundamental concepts and theories relating to MNEs and analyse the challenges these firms face in relation to strategy and international management. You will have the opportunities to explore, for example, why MNEs exist, how they build competitive advantages across borders, issues arising from the dynamic headquarters-subsidiaries relationships, along with other contemporary topics. By completing the course, you should gain valuable insight into MNEs, identify, and analyse critical managerial problems, and offer practical solutions.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

This course employs a range of individual and group activities to facilitate learning. These include completing the required and recommended readings and attending in-class and online activities in which seminars and group discussions take place. Guest lectures may be organised to offer fresh insight from a professional perspective. Course assessments also play a vital role as learning activities. Completing them should enhance your understanding of the course content and help you achieve the learning objectives.
