Course Description

Product innovation and digital business strategy is a course designed to equip you with the confidence to conceive, lead, and execute digital innovation initiatives and build new business models for existing and emerging businesses.

You will gain competence in digital business strategy by analysing the commercial and customer drivers and challenges of product innovation in a competitive marketplace. You will acquire important artefacts of product innovation and development, establish digital vision, objectives, and analyse the primary elements that lead to digital innovation initiatives in a contemporary setting. You will evaluate the real-world applicability of digital technology based on your analysis of relevant literature.

This course will also expose you to the most recent innovation tools, platforms, operating models, and product development strategies utilised by the world's leading digital corporations.

This course will equip you with a basis for enhancing your ability to lead highly creative and diverse teams in the development of creative and inclusive products that will drive organisational success and performance in the marketplace.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

CLO1: Critically evaluate the commercial and customer drivers of product innovation and inclusive growth. In the Australian offerings, this includes opportunities and challenges that facilitate Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander People knowledge in Australia.

CLO2: Design and develop a digital product and evaluate the key risks, and adoption success factors.

CLO3: Evaluate the real-world applicability of digital technology based on the analysis of relevant literature on product innovation and digital strategy.

CLO4: Apply and communicate innovation tools, operating models and product innovation strategies that drive organisational performance.

In this course you will be encouraged to be an active learner. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities comprising individual and group work. These may include quizzes; assignments; prescribed readings; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; solving problems; conducting presentations; producing written work and collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects.
