Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to identify and work within the legal and ethical frameworks that apply to an individual job role.

This unit applies to community services and health workers who play a proactive role in identifying and meeting their legal and ethical responsibilities.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, you will have developed and applied the skills and knowledge required to play a proactive role in identifying and meeting their legal and ethical responsibilities.


Overview of Assessment

This unit of competency is delivered and assessed with the following units of competency:

 

• CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services  

• CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people

There will be three forms of assessment including knowledge quizzes, simulated assessments and practical assessments undertaken in the work place.

Students are given two (2) attempts for each assessment to demonstrate the required skills. A third (3rd) attempt can only be offered after discussions between teacher and the Program Coordinator and is not automatic. Resubmissions beyond two (2) attempts are at the discretion of the teacher and/or coordinator.
