Learning Outcomes
To successfully complete this unit the student will be required to develop the knowledge and skills associated with teamwork and communication to identify and determine team role as well as an ability to operate as a team in performing production tasks and learn required skills. Self management skills are also required to identify own role and responsibilities within the team. This unit also requires an ability to assist in planning and organising work plans for self and team and learning skills in order to ensure own contribution supports team processes.
Details of Learning Activities
Integrated learning consisting of theory and practical components relating to working with in team environment; carried out in practical workshops, in a simulated workplace environment, to enhance the development of the skills and knowledge required to develop custom-made footwear product.
Teaching Schedule
over the 18 week semester work is to be conducted in the context of classes when students are producing made-to-measure custom made shoes for a client.
• Students to develop strategies and negotiate appropriate schedules. A group works as part of a team within the Workroom.
• Negotiating use of machine time and work bench space. Negotiating schedule for use of specialised machinery.
• Students to plan and organise their own work to ensure that it meets the required deadlines for submission of work while working within the constraints of the schedules of use of machines and equipment by all students in the group.

Overview of Assessment
Tasks that have not be authenticated in class as the student’s own work will not be considered for assessment. Regular attendance is necessary. Assessment will consist of both theory and practical based exercises, predominantly in class but some out of class research and information formatting may be required as well.
