Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to oversee the bump in/bump out process for one or more technical aspects of a production. Head technicians or floor management personnel would generally undertake this role.

Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assessment to a satisfactory standard.
You will receive feedback on all assessment and where indicated, you will receive a grade. Graded assessment tasks are equally weighted and will determine your final result for this course.
You must submit all pieces of assessment in order for your competency to be assessed in this course.
Assessment
1. Participate in Photo Story production as Floor Manager, Technical Director, Lighting director & Audio director. Set up and pack up of sets, camera, audio and lighting gear in studio according to studio protocols. In week 6,7 & 8 Sem I
2. Participate in ‘Newsline’ production as Floor Manager, Lighting Director, Audio Director or Technical Director and Lighting/Staging/audio Crew Member . In weeks 13, 14 & 15 Sem I
3. Show your personal original Floor plan/ Lighting Plan for a ’24 Melbourne’ segment, showing positions of Cast, Cameras and lighting. Due week 2 Sem II
4. Participate in ’24 Melbourne’ productions as Floor Manager, Lighting Director, Audio Director or TD and Lighting/Staging/audio Crew Member. In weeks 6-15 Sem II. Graded task.

The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that students attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency. Non-attendance may seriously jeopardise the chances of success in a course. Clearly, non-attendance at an assessment will result in failure of that assessment. Where visa conditions apply, attendance is compulsory.
