Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to work respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
This course applies to all workers.

Details of Learning Activities
Classes are delivered during face to face workshops (subject to Government restrictions due to Covid 19) During classes, information is shared through talks and discussions. Workshops will take place, with exercises will be conducted to apply learning.
Time is spent during classes for students to work on group assessment tasks. In your own time, you will be expected to keep up-to-date with the readings and videos that will be made available to you on Canvas. The classes, readings and videos will prepare you to be able to complete your course assessments.

Assessment Task 1: Roleplay and Reflection Questions

Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1: Roleplay and Reflection Questions - This assessment task will assess students skills and knowledge in using inclusive and respectful communication when working with clients and consultants from diverse backgrounds. It will also enable students to demonstrate their skills in reflecting on perspectives and practices.
Assessment Task 2: Meeting Roleplay and Written Documentation - This assessment requires students to demonstrate their verbal and written inclusive and respectful communication skills by planning and conducting a simulated workplace meeting. Students will also review their performance by receiving and reflecting on feedback.
Assessment Task 3: Short Answer Questions - The Knowledge questions assessment task allows students to demonstrate their knowledge about the use of communication, to build relationships, whilst working with diverse people in the community services sector.
