Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to check machine performance and complete minor adjustments and maintenance on production machines.

This unit applies to individuals working in accordance with established procedures on routine and minor maintenance tasks. The individual may also be the machine operator. This unit does not apply to machine mechanics who undertake more significant machine repair and maintenance.

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and includes a range of project, practical and theory components. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on Canvas.

This is a Vocational Education and Training qualification and is assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard required in the workplace. To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.
