Assessment Tasks

Assessment Tasks
Assessment 1 – Fishermans Bend EMP This assessment is a project based assessment task using an existing EMP for Fishermans Bend Sandridge Precinct. The assessment will follow the ISO 14001 structure. It will need to re-developed and cover the following sections:  • Table of Contents • Background • Environmental Management • Implementation  • Monitor and Review  • Appendices and Referencing
This assessment is assessed Satisfactory or Non Yet Satisfactory and due in Week 12
Assessment 2 – Revised EMP  This assessment is a project based assessment task where students will be using their EMP template and adjusting this to reflect a site specific EMP for a case study site. The revised EMP will include the Environmental Aspects and Scenarios that are relevant to the Case Study Site. Information on Background and Environmental Management and supporting documents need to be revised for the issues specific to the Case Study Site.
This assessment is assessed Satisfactory or Non Yet Satisfactory  and due in Week 16
Assessment 3 – Knowledge Quiz Students will undertake an online quiz as Open Book, referring to the information delivered from the preceding 16 weeks.  Students will need 80% of the questions correct to be deemed competent.
This assessment is assessed Satisfactory or Non Yet Satisfactory and conducted in-class in Week 16

Context of and specific resources for assessment

Describe how assessments meet the context of and specific resources for assessment

This competency is to be assessed using standard and authorised work practices, safety requirements and environmental constraints.

Assessment of essential underpinning knowledge will usually be conducted in an off-site context.

Assessment is to comply with relevant regulatory or Australian standards' requirements.

Resource implications for assessment include:

  • documentation that should normally be available in either a building or construction office

  • relevant codes, standards and government regulations

  • office equipment, including calculators, photocopiers and telephone systems

  • computers with appropriate software to view 2-D CAD drawings, run costing programs and print copies

  • a technical reference library with current publications on measurement, design, building construction and manufacturers' product literature

  • copies of appropriate awards and workplace agreements

  • a suitable work area appropriate to the construction process.

Reasonable adjustments for people with disabilities must be made to assessment processes where required. This could include access to modified equipment and other physical resources, and the provision of appropriate assessment support.
