Course Description
Working safely is fundamental across all industries.
Sets and staging for some productions, performances or events may fall within the definition of construction work.
This course has been selected as a compulsory unit by the live production industry to provide you with the basic Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) knowledge which you will require to undertake a range of work tasks within this employment field.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course you will have developed and applied the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate competency in the above elements.
You will also be aware of:
- applicable OHS legislative and safety requirements for construction work including duty of care
- the range of common construction hazards and procedures for the assessment of risk and application of the hierarchy of control
- OHS communication processes, information and documentation including the role of OHS committees and representatives, the meaning of common safety signs and symbols, and procedures for reporting hazards, incidents and injuries
- general procedures for responding to incidents and emergencies including evacuation, first aid, fire safety equipment and PPE.

Assessment for this course will involve demonstration of practical tasks and testing of your knowledge.
