Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to establish the foundations of massage practice, evaluate what makes a sustainable practice and then to develop an approach to own practice.

Details of Learning Activities
Students will learn the history of massage and be introduced to the various styles of massage available within the industry today.
Students will look at how the are are integral part of the Allied Health system . They will understand how they fit within the chain of practitioners in regards to referrals and working collaboratively with other Allied Health industries

- Identify three populations within Remedial Massage that you would be interested in working in once you are qualified (eg. athletes, oncology, general population).
- Choose one of these populations and outline the most common types of treatment you think most suitable.
- Develop goals and aspirations for treating this population.
- Give an example of how your goals and aspirations align with the values and philosophies of Remedial massage.
- Give one example for each of these three populations the possible employment opportunities you could undertake in these areas.

During this assessment, you will be asked to reflect on previous goals and aspirations completed during Part A – Personal Reflection. You will be asked a series of questions that will allow you to reflect on your goals and aspirations within the allied health industry
