Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and evaluate work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area, according to WHS legislative requirements.
This unit applies to workers who have responsibility for WHS as part of their role, including workers with obligations under WHS legislation, persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs), or their officers (as defined by relevant legislation).

Details of Learning Activities
This will be an online course presented via webinar . Students are expected to read the class slides prior to the webinar this then will allow for any questions to be addressed and an online forum to be developed.
• Students will learn to apply their skills and knowledge to work integrated learning (WIL) in the
student & clinical practice environment, during simulations and classroom based learning
• Work experience &/or placements observation of performance in the workplace will be a
valuable part of your learning experience
• Tutorial activities (individually and in teams) to discuss, debate, critique and consolidate your
ideas and extend your understanding around key concepts within specific topics
• Online discussions and activities to support and collaborate with other students in your course
and debate and discuss ideas
• Utilise and develop critical research and cognitive skills to find credible sources of health
information
• Self-directed study time (eg. readings or activities around theory) to enhance and strengthen
your knowledge and understanding of theoretical concepts
• To further facilitate learning students are strongly encouraged to use a range of communication
tools between themselves and their course instructor as well as between themselves and fellow
students by using the online learning platform
• It is strongly recommended that students partner up with fellow students in order to practice
assessment, treatment and palpation techniques

Overview of Assessment

Assessment 1 - Due date 11/03/19 - Students will be given 3 case studies- Within these studies are scenarios that will require the student to identify the WHS/INF problems , resolve the problem in the short term and identify who to report to the rectify the problem permanently
Assessment 2 - Due date 11/03/19 students will be allocated into groups of 5 to 6 . Then will them work together to deliver a power point presentation that can be used to educate other students on WHS/INF measures that can be implemented into a clinical environment. Students will present their presentation to 3 members of their student cohort and develop a feedback form that students - can use on how useful this tool was to them
