Course Description
In this unit you will develop the skills and knowledge required to plan a photo shoot in response to a brief and then style the shoot for photography. You will learn about the styling industry including working with key stakeholders to produce styled photoshoots.

2.1. Determine photo shoot resource requirements and ensure required resourcing is available within allocated budget. 2.2. Create a brief of images to be captured during photo shoot. 2.3. Document a photo shoot schedule and communicate key roles and responsibilities to relevant personnel. 2.4. Identify potential photo shoot issues and undertake contingency planning to minimise impact. 2.5. Seek privacy agreements and permissions from talent involved in photo shoot as required. |

Provide clear direction and instructions to photo shoot talent and other personnel involved in photo shoot as required. 3.5. Adjust styling throughout photo shoot to meet creative brief. 3.6. Confirm photos listed in brief of images are captured. 3.7. Finalise photo shoot and restore photo shoot location to original condition. |

Learning activities will take place in a studio using industry standard tools and resources. You will complete exercises and industry style projects.
You will also be required to undertake independent study.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment will incorporate a range of methods to assess performance and the application of knowledge and skills. Assessment tasks may include: report writing, practical in class exercises and on location practical exercises.

Assessment Tasks
This is a semester year course
Students will take part in class discussions and presentations.
Students will also assemble a stylist kit for use on all shoots.
Semester 1
2 x Studio shoots:
1) Magazine Cover - cover shoot for a leading interiors and decorating magazine (Competent /Not Yet Competent)
2) A double page spread for Gourmet Traveller Magazine featuring cheese as the product (Competent /Not Yet Competent)
Semester 2
These assessment tasks are formative
2 x Studio shoots:
1 x Bath & Body (Competent /Not Yet Competent)
1 x Flat Lay merchandise category (Competent /Not Yet Competent)
2 x Location Shoots:
1 x Fashion with Talent ( Graded Assessment)
1 x Free Choice on location
Students will develop mood boards and concepts, source talent and style the photographs.
Further information about these projects will be presented in class.
All tasks must be completed and the student is to be competent in all tasks to be competent in this course
At the completion of the course, grading will be offered in addition to, and after, competency based assessment.
