Course Description
This course will give you the skills and knowledge required to use a text editor to design, create and save web pages to a given specification, rather than using an authoring tool.
It applies to those working as web designers and developers who interpret client briefs, generate a framework for internet information, and are resourceful in their application of technology in using a markup language.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course you will have the ability to:
- design, create and save a document using a markup language, without using an automated code generation program
- use a text editor for generating the markup language code for use on common web browsers
- validate the markup document against the standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Overview of Assessment
Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, practical project work and through the application of learned skills.
