Course Description

In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge required to produce schedules for physical and human resources and materials for residential or commercial projects. This includes monitoring project schedules and tracking and recording costs as they are incurred.

This course applies to site managers and forepersons, estimators, project managers and builders in the construction industry with responsibility for producing schedules for ordering materials and allocating labour.

3.4 Resolve issues, within scope of responsibilities, and maintain a cost analysis against final estimated project cost.

Complete and submit draft ass 1 part 2. Discuss relevant suppliers for products and materials required for the project. Commence ass 1 part 3, list and details of relevant suppliers as shown in assessment task.

Discuss permit approvals, how they can affect commencement dates and how to manage unplanned days and delays during the construction program. Students to continue work on ass 1 questions based on topics so far delivered in class at week 8 and submit draft for feedback.

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights to your written tasks. Written answer questions (approx 22 no.) topics from building permits, variations, monitor project schedules, project costing and variations, project delays, communications, company overheads, temporary site facilities, OH&S, government legislation & regulations, building codes and standards.

Product assessment task 3

Students to create project call forward sheet, variation form, purchase order form, monitor project cost and monitor project progress
