Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to establish the information need, gather information and critically analyse the information for relevance to own work.
This course applies to health and community service workers who need to research existinginformation to support and improve their work practice. It does not cover primary research.
This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience.

As part of this course you will be required to attend a tutorial run by the library on utilisation of nursing/ health data bases and referencing.
Overview of Assessment
Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including written, oral, practical tasks and activities.
You will be asked to personally demonstrate to your teacher/assessor the practical skills gained during this course to the relevant industry standards. Assessment activities will occur throughout this course and feedback will be provided at regular intervals
Assessment Tasks
CHCPOL003 - AT1 Observational Audit, poster Presentation as a group, and an individual report: In allocated groups, students are required to conduct an audit, collate the results, create a group A3 poster and a presentation that summarises key information on the topic and complete an individual research report. Assessment due March 2020 |

You are permitted to have a maximum of 2 resubmissions for this course, however each individual assessment may only be resubmitted once. Resubmissions are not automatic and will only be approved at the discretion of the program coordinator after consultation with the teacher.
