Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to explore potential themes and storylines to inform the overall development of exhibition concepts.
It applies to individuals who explore and develop concepts and ideas for a cultural exhibition, who work autonomously, but in consultation and collaboration with others.

Details of Learning Activities
In this course we will be developing your skills specific to working within the area Exhibition Design. Broadly speaking exhibition design can be divided into two areas - Trade (commercial) and Interpretation (collections based).
You will undertake 3 tasks in the course. Each task will provide insight into the necessary sequence or process that an exhibition concept moves through before being realised and the various skills an exhibition designer needs.
Alongside definite skills like concept, design development and documentation skills there are other skills you will be learning like working with space, introduced structure, working in a team structure, detailing, organising etc.

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and will include developing work for your graduate exhibition. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on My RMIT.
Assessment Tasks
Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard expected in the workplace.
To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher for each assessment task.
