Course Description

This course describes skills and knowledge required to extend own expertise in a specialised art form to develop a cohesive body of professional work for the public domain. This involves self-directed research and the independent, highly developed use of specialised materials, processes and techniques.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral/written presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on CANVAS.


Assessment Tasks

Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency.  To be assessed competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard expected in the workplace. To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

Assessment Task 1 - AT1 Research, Apply and Finalise

In this assessment you will conduct research to analyse and evaluate abstract and complex ideas independently to improve your chosen art forms to a professional level. You will then develop strategies to apply to your creative practice to challenge, adapt and refine evolving creative works. Due Date: week 15
