Course Description

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to solve problems in multiple path circuits.

It includes working safely; applying problem-solving procedures, including the use of voltage, current and resistance measuring devices; and providing solutions derived from measurements and calculations to predictable problems in multiple path circuits.

The need to test or measure live is determined in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and when necessary conducted in accordance with workplace procedures

Circuits are checked as isolated in accordance with workplace procedures and regulatory requirements

Expected circuit parameters are calculated from relevant component ratings/specifications

Circuit parameters are measured in accordance with industry standards and checked against expected values

Circuit problems are assessed using measured and calculated values as they apply to multiple path circuits

Circuit solutions are determined from measured and calculated values of resistance, voltage, current and power in extra-low voltage (ELV) multiple path circuits

You will be involved in the following learning activities to meet requirements as cluster "DC Circuits" for both units of competencies "UEECD0046 Solve problems in single path circuits (EEET7547C)" and "UEECD0044 Solve problems in multiple path circuits (EEET7548C)",  and stage 1 competencies for Engineering Associates:

Cluster Information:

This course is delivered in a cluster (DC Circuits) in conjunction with UEECD0046(EEET7547C). You must enrol in both courses delivered in this cluster. All the learning and assessment activities will include the components of both units of competencies UEECD0046 and UEECD0044.
