University Mental Health Day

Take part in fun and free activities and learn effective wellbeing strategies for University Mental Health Day held on 7th May.

Join us as we come together as a community to inspire conversations and take action to prioritise our mental health and wellbeing.  

There are a range of free events and activities to help you take some time to wind down, relax and refocus. 

Events

Paint and Create your Wellbeing Pot 

  • Date & time: Tuesday 7th May, 12-2pm 
  • Location: MPavilion, Brunswick Campus 
  • Event details: Come and enjoy a moment of creative wellbeing at RUSU's Chill n Grill with RMIT Wellbeing and Kirrip.   

Paint and Create at Kirrip Place

  • Time: Wednesday 8th May, 11am -2pm 
  • Location Kirrip Place, Level 5, Building 10 (Garden Building), Bowen Street, City Campus 
  • Event details: Drop in at Kirrip Place for a sip of hot chocolate while you paint and create your own Wellbeing pot and learn more about the Ways of Wellbeing! 

Afternoon Games with RMIT Kirrip 

  • Time: Thursday 9th May, 2:30 - 4:30pm 
  • Location Kirrip Place, Level 5, Building 10 (Garden Building), Bowen Street, City Campus (Remember to bring your student card for entry!)
  • Description:  🤝 Get ready to laugh, play fun games, make friends and of course, eat 🍕 pizza hosted by RMIT Kirrip! 
  • Registration: Limited spots available, so secure your spot by registering here

Walking the Labyrinth 

  • Time: Tuesdays, 11am - 12pm 
  • Location: Building 47, Level 3, Carlton Campus 
  • Description: A labyrinth is not a maze. A labyrinth has only one path leading to a central point, you take the same path going out. "In a maze you lose yourself, in a labyrinth you find yourself".  Come and experience this ancient practice and try it for yourself! Clear your thoughts, gain help in decision making, quieten your mind, gain fresh insights and improve your focus! 

Mindfulness Meditation 

  • Time: Every Monday, 12-1pm 
  • Location: Building 47, Level 1, Room 8, City Campus 
  • Description: Mindfulness meditation involves deep breathing and awareness of body and mind and teaches you to slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm both your mind and body! It combines meditation with the practice of mindfulness, that involves being fully focused on "the now" so you can acknowledge and accept your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgement.
