Step out of the cold these winter Wednesdays: have some fun, improve your reflective practice and network with likeminded colleagues. As part of our celebration of 30 years of MBA Education the Graduate School of Business is presenting a special seminar series exploring the work of major philosophers and the implications of their thinking for modern business practice. Adopting a suitably Socratic approach, Professor Peter Sheldrake will provide an introduction to the work of each philosopher and then invite the audience to reflect upon the relevance of these insights to corporate life and how they might apply the findings to their own business practice. Professor Sheldrake is an engaging presenter and participants can look forward to a relaxed, entertaining and informative evening of good conversation over drinks and light snacks. There are 4 sessions: Third Wednesday of each month, June – September 2008 6-8 pm
Format The session will start at 6.00pm sharp with a 30 minute introduction to the philosopher in question followed by facilitated group discussion. Emily McPherson RedevelopmentIn late 2009 the Graduate School of Business will move to new purpose built premises on the main RMIT campus. The Emily McPherson Building, a magnificent national trust property located on the corner of Russell Street and Victoria Parade is currently being totally refitted to provide a dedicated space for the GSB. Once complete, the building will boast the latest in multimedia technology, teaching and meeting spaces especially designed for executive education, a cafeteria and a private dining room, plus our very own alumni lounge, careers centre and courtyard.
