Graduate School of Business Rankings

Australian Financial Review (AFR), BOSS Magazine 2007

The 2007 AFR survey ranked the RMIT University Graduate School of Business MBA (Executive) in the top 10 programs in Australia and in the top 3 Melbourne-based programs.

The Australian Financial Review is one of Australia’s leading business publications. School rankings were drawn from an independent survey canvassing the views of more than 1000 alumni who completed their MBA between 2002 and 2006. Respondents were asked their opinion on 22 individual measures, ranging from the quality of the teaching, to networking opportunities, to specific skills developed. For the first time in 2007, AFR BOSS ranked MBA programs - and therefore Business Schools - in descending order rather grouped into "bands". Further details of the survey can be found on the AFR Boss Magazine website.

Graduate Management Association of Australia

In 2007 the RMIT University Graduate School of Business (GSB) MBA (Executive) was awarded 4 stars in the GMAA ranking system.

GMAA is the nationally recognised Professional Association for graduates of MBA, DBA and other postgraduate business management qualifications in Australia. A key objective of the GMAA is to assist in the quality development of Australia's managerial resources by providing an objective and independent review of MBA programs. The star rating is based on a recent survey where each MBA program was assessed for its standard and value based upon information derived from the Business Schools, Faculties and organisations that provide the programs and the Department of Education, Science and Training. The 1 to 5 Star Rating is published in "The Good Universities Guide to MBA and Executive Short Courses" (2008 edition) and on the GMA website. Institutions are ranked alphabetically within each category.

RMIT MBA Scores High on Corporate Links, Salaries and Getting a Job

RMIT University performed strongly in the recent Good Universities Guide ratings of Australian MBA providers, achieving four out of five stars for corporate links, graduate salaries and getting a job. No other Victorian provider performed as consistently across these three indices.

The school also received 4 stars for the academic qualifications of staff.

Professor John Toohey, Head of the Graduate Business School is pleased with the way these rankings reflect the school’s commitment to providing genuine value to students. “It is important that our programs not only deliver high level academic capability but also develop work ready graduates who can make a real contribution to their organisations.”

The Good Universities Guide: MBA and Management Programs 2008 provides comparative profiles of business schools, faculties and other MBA providers, a detailed description of MBA(s) available, as well as tables showing ratings in rankings. This material is gathered from a variety of sources including; the Department of Education, Science and Training, MBA providers and the Graduate Destinations Survey conducted by Graduate Careers Australia.
