RMIT's popular International Business program has been developed in conjunction with industry leaders to provide you with strong academic foundations together with practical ‘real-world’ international business exposure.

This program prepares you for the dynamic field of international business. Few companies are not exposed to the international market place. The program equips you with a solid background in business so you can function in any profit or non-profit business within a particular discipline. You will also choose a minor in a business discipline of your choice and may pursue a foreign language minor or a set of international studies courses to improve relevant knowledge and capabilities.

In today's increasingly global environment an extensive understanding of the international business arena is a key issue for corporations. The dissolving of trade barriers, the exponential expansion in the use of technologies such as the Internet, and the rise of global corporations has meant organisations are increasingly being forced to compete internationally. However, in order to succeed globally it is vitally important to think locally.

As a result, there is a need for corporations to have a workforce with strong business abilities and a willingness to bridge the cultural divide separating various international communities. As an International Business student, you will therefore need a passion for international trading relationships, cross-cultural negotiations, and be willing to apply your knowledge to a variety of international business situations.
