Course Description
In this course you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to sew woven and stretch knit garments.

3.1 Collect required pattern pieces and check manually or by computer 3.2 Manipulate pattern pieces and position manually on paper or by computer for most efficient fabric use 3.3 Draw up lay marker manually or by computer 3.4 Prepare lay-up instructions according to requirements 3.5 Check marker against requirements and copy marker either manually or digitally by computer, camera or smartphone 3.6 Place marker on lay, check marker and lay alignment, and take appropriate action according to job specifications |

Marker making class exercise—Lay Planning- Two class exercises. Skirt Exercise-Students trace half scale skirt cut pattern and glue onto card, check pattern markings, make a lay plan using 90cm width for fabric. Marker making exercise using full scale Raglan T-shirt. Lay up on knit fabric and cut it out. --can work in pairs or three in a group. -This is for Assessment Task 1
LADIES SHORTS PROJECT-Shorts are Pre-Cut, students to collect there garment pieces and make a bundle -include all garment pieces labels and elastic and Assembly plan. |
