Course Description

You will learn the skills and knowledge required to facilitate the empowerment of people with disability to deliver rights based services using a person-centred approach when delivering individualised plans to clients.

 

This unit applies to workers in varied disability contexts.

Overview of Assessment

This course is co-delivered and co-assessed in a cluster with the course CHCDIS001 Contribute to ongoing skills development using a strengths based approach CHCDIS002 Follow established person centred behaviour supports, , Facilitate the empowerment of people with a disability and CHCDIS003 Support community participation and social inclusion

he assessment tasks are as follows:

Task 1: Skills development and assessment

Task 2: Community participation skills development

Task 3: Skills development and assessment

Task 4: Behaviours of concern demonstration

Task 5: Critical incident- simulated setting

Task 6: scenario and Knowledge quizzes

There will be three forms of assessment including knowledge quizzes, simulated assessments and practical assessments undertaken in the work place.

Students are given two (2) attempts for each assessment to demonstrate the required skills. A third (3rd) attempt can only be offered after discussions between teacher and the Program Coordinator and is not automatic. Resubmissions beyond two (2) attempts are at the discretion of the teacher and/or coordinator.
