Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required for workers to participate in safe work practices to ensure their own health and safety, and that of others.
The unit applies to all workers who require knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) to carry out their own work, either under direct supervision or with some individual responsibility.

There are three individual assessment tasks consisting of short answer questions, a simulated workplace inspection and risk assessment as well as a simulated emergency evacuation procedures
In order to achieve competency in this unit, you must be marked as satisfactory for each assessment task.
Students are allowed two submissions per assessment. Any further resubmissions is at the discretion of the teacher and coordinator.
Assessment tasks include:
Task 1: Knowledge assessment
Task 2: Workplace inspection and risk assessment
Task 3: Emergency procedures
