Justice and Community Safety

Justice and Community Safety programs are multi-disciplinary academic programs that examine the characteristics and operations of the criminal justice system and relationships between crime and crime control within the context of a democratic society. The programs aim to provide:

  • An understanding of the criminal justice system and its relationship to other social services, government and the community;
  • A conceptual framework in which professional activities in the criminal justice filed may be understood, and
  • An understanding of the theories on which criminal justice administration is based and the ability to critically analyse criminal justice administration systems and practices.

The programs will appeal to students who have justice and diversity concerns, and those who are creatively looking to make a positive difference in this growth area.
